Early
September 2009
Plenty of Honeybees and
it's kind of comforting to see the softer side of wasps
and bees crawling about the flowers. Wasps don't store pollen as
bees do, but apparently eat it as an energy source.

Here's
a video of hornets destroying a bee colony - a little creepy, but
riveting.
And here's
a link to an article on certain bee's defensive tactics.

As Autumn begins, I see groups of students
running in packs along the path. Why they do this is a mystery to me and
not to be found on Wikipedia ;-)
