 Late April 2008

Carp spawning - the second time I've witnessed it in the river. The Raritan is alive with these large (18-24inch) fish, the females fat with eggs, the males accompanying them. I thought I might see the predatory Ospreys circling, but didn't. As there are so many fish, I thought that perhaps the bird's appetites had been satisfied elsewhere.
