Early April  2008

Spring has been off to a somewhat late start this year - e.g. I didn't see my first snake until April 12th (yes, that's Spring to me) - and so what seems to happen is that all comes in a rush. Several images on this page have been 'filtered' in Photoshop and such because I like to play :-)

365.1 Spring Beauty

Spring Beauties and Lesser Celandine blanket some areas and are sometimes do dense that it seems nothing else will grow there, but as they die down, others will flourish.

On the right, new Knotweed sprouts push up - edible shoots for those who consider this an invasive - just eat them away before they get too large.

Lesser Celandine blossoms made me think of Fibonacci numbers - mainly because they don't follow that pattern - I have counted blossoms with 8,9,10,11, 12 and 13 petals.
